When rotary disc filters are used for pulp fiber recycling, more than 95% of the fiber and filler is recovered from the white water through the use of a physical method. This recovered material can then return back to the chutes. The SS level of the clear filtrate and super clear filtrate is about 50ppm, with these filtrates then being used as the spray water for mesh screen. This achieves a high performance water recycling, which reduces operation costs and the amount of paper used.

INDAH used the rotary disc filter for pulp fiber reculing from whitewater resulting from ash bottom whiteboards. It is difficult to recover fiber and fillers from ash bottom white board, due to the high ash content and looseness of the pulp. After the vacuum disc filter upgrade for INDAH, the clear filtrate SS level was less than 80ppm, with the super clear filtrate SS level at less than 50ppm, thus earning high praise from our customers.
